What is Summer Honors College?
Long Island University’s Summer Honors College is an exciting opportunity for students to choose from a variety of diverse educational programs while enjoying a unique glimpse into the remarkable college experience available at LIU.
Who is eligible for the Summer Honors College?
The program is open to rising high school juniors and seniors.
What is the cost of Summer Honors College?
Each 3 credit course is $500
How long is each course?
Each course is two weeks long. You can choose from a morning session (9am - 12:30pm) or an afternoon session (2-5:30pm)
How many classes can I take?
You may take one or two courses per session. These are full credit classes, and will be fast paced. Please plan accordingly.
What will I receive upon completion?
All students who satisfactorily complete the Summer Honors College will receive three transferable college credits. LIU will issue a transcript for your summer courses at the end of the summer. You will be able to request a transcript for your summer courses at the end of the summer.
What is the housing scholarship?
If you take at least 6 credits (2 or more courses) in the summer, you will receive free on-campus housing within the same session.
What kind of housing is available?
Students who choose to live on campus for the summer will live in single or double occupancy dormitory-style housing on a first come, first served basis.
Where is the campus located?
The LIU Post campus is located at 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, NY 11548.
What subway and public transit is accessible to the LIU Post Campus?
LIU Post is serviced by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), Long Island Bus N20. The bus stops on University Drive at two designated locations on the north side of Campus. University Drive runs parallel with Northern Boulevard. The N20 connects to the New York City subway system (# 7 line), several Long Island Rail Road stations, and other buses serving Nassau, Suffolk and Queens.
