Dr. Sukolrat Boonyayatra received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001 from the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. She also received her Master of Science in health science in 2003 from Chiang Mai University in Thailand. Then, she started working as an instructor in the Department of Food Animal Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University. Dr. Boonyayatra completed her PhD in Veterinary Science at Washington State University in 2010. Her PhD thesis was “Diagnosis of Mycoplasma Mastitis: Development and Validation.” Her primary research interest is molecular epidemiology of bovine mastitis pathogens and other infectious diseases in cattle. Dr. Boonyayatra continued to work at Chiang Mai University where she spent her time teaching ruminant medicine, providing ambulatory service for ruminants, and conducting research on bovine mastitis and bovine tuberculosis from 2010-2022.
In addition to working as a teaching faculty, Dr. Boonyayatra also had administrative responsibilities as an Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Foreign Affairs during 2014-2018 and served as an Associate Dean for Educational Quality Development during 2018-2022 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University. She was involved in curriculum development for the DVM, and other post graduate programs.
