Dr. Jon Romano is an Assistant Professor that teaches the exotics and lab animal medicine course as well as working clinical skills. Dr. Romano graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Follow graduation, Dr. Romano participated in a small animal rotating internship at VCA Alameda East in Denver, CO. He then completed a specialty internship in avian, exotics, and zoological medicine at Colorado State University. Since then, Dr. Romano has worked at several aquariums and zoological facilities across the country, treating everything from small fish to elephants. Dr. Romano continues to practice zoo medicine and practices at small animal and exotic companion animal clinics on a relief basis. Dr. Romano is passionate about conservation medicine and has strong interest in the one health approach to veterinary medicine, and how it can enrich the lives of both humans and animals.
