The Department of Public Safety is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors on the LIU Post in Brookville, NY. We provided safety and security services by foot, bicycle and vehicle patrol 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Public Safety Officers on the LIU Post are licensed by the State of New York and are trained, certified and registered pursuant to the New York State Security Guard Act of 1992.
The Public Safety Department administers a comprehensive public safety program, including traffic enforcement, crime prevention programs, fire prevention exercises, personal safety workshops, escort services, and emergency alert system. The Department of Public Safety works closely with the Brookville and Old Westbury Police Departments, and the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management to ensure the safety of the Campus community. In addition, the Department models its security procedures by the guidelines of the United States Department of Homeland Security.
