Courses for the Health Care Provider

The LIU School of Professional Studies and LIU Post School of Health Professions and Nursing offer the following programs from the American Heart Association at LIU Post, 720 Northern Boulevard (Route 25A), Brookville, New York 11548. Classes are held in the Interprofessional Simulation Center complex, Room 270, of Pell Hall/Life Science Building.

• AHA Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Original CPR
  Tuition: $70
• AHA Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal CPR
  (health care practitioners and students must re-certify every 2 years)
  Tuition: $65

CLASS SCHEDULE

Basic Life Support (BLS)

For healthcare providers such as, but not limited to, day care providers, coaches, EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, nurses, lifeguards and students in exercise science, nursing, medical school or pharmacy school who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. The BLS Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.

Class Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds will be issued in the event a class is cancelled or the participant withdraws five (5) business days prior to the class date registered for. Less than five business days, refunds will be honored only if the participant has a documented emergency (illness, death in the family). If your class is cancelled, you will have the option of attending another scheduled class or a full refund. Refunds will be issued within 15 business days.
