Accreditations
All undergraduate and graduate programs at LIU Post are registered with the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. In addition to the entire University, various other academic programs in the School of Health Professions and Nursing are specially accredited by professional organizations, signifying they meet the highest standards of educational quality as determined by leaders in the field.
Students in the School of Health Professions benefit from academic programs that have all gone through a rigorous accreditation process to ensure the highest level of standards in curriculum and instruction. In addition, the School is affiliated with some of the top hospitals, medical centers, clinics, health care and public service organizations in the world. Our students participate in a wide variety of hands-on learning experiences at these facilities. By working directly with patients and with health care and counseling professionals in the field, they gain the knowledge and the skills that ground them in the latest trends and techniques in their area of study, while establishing a valuable network of contacts.

National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS)
The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is the premier national agency for accreditation and approval of programs in the clinical laboratory sciences. The B.S. and M.S. degrees in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the Department of Biomedical Science are NAACLS accredited and approved by the NY State Education Department Office of the Professions (NYSEDOP).
Department of Nutrition
Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) is the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.) for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitian nutritionists or dietetic technicians, registered.
ACEND exists to serve the public by establishing and enforcing eligibility requirements and accreditation standards that ensure the quality and continued improvement of nutrition and dietetics education programs. Programs meeting those standards are accredited by ACEND. The LIU Post B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics and post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship certificate are accredited by ACEND.

Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs. The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.
Programs accredited by the JRCERT must demonstrate that they are in substantial compliance with the relevant JRCERT accreditation standards: Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences (radiography and radiation therapy), The B.S. in Radiologic Technology is one of only three accredited baccalaureate degree programs in New York State.
The LIU Post Medical Imaging Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Radiologic Technology
New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Radiologic Technology recognizes LIU Post as one of only two institutions that provide the four-year radiography program and maintain the requisite high standards required to provide the edification of radiographic professionals.
Department of Social Work
Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3,000 individual members, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education. Founded in 1952, this partnership of educational and professional institutions, social welfare agencies, and private citizens is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in this country. The programs in the Department of Social Work are accredited by CSWE.
American Psychological Association
The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at LIU Post offers a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree and has as its basic purpose the training of doctoral level clinical psychologists who will apply current knowledge and practice skills for the prevention and alleviation of psychological problems. The program is also committed to training students who will provide services in public sector settings to traditionally underserved groups, and provides each student with special competencies in one of three areas: family violence, developmental disabilities, or serious and persistent mental illness. The program also provides its graduates with clinical and theoretical training in two major orientations— cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic. The Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association. The program also is registered by the New York State Education Department and listed by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards and the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology as a designated institution offering a doctoral program in psychology. The program is based on the practitioner-scholar model of clinical training.
Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling
LIU Post's Genetic Counseling program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling, which establishes the standards of competence for clinical practice through accreditation of graduate programs in genetic counseling. The LIU Post Genetic Counseling Graduate Program (GCGP) currently holds accreditation through the ACGC.
Behavior Analyst Certification Board
As society contends with steadily increasing diagnoses of developmental disabilities such as autism, applied behavior analysis has become a vital tool for assessment and treatment. Certification in applied behavior analysis leads to a wide range of career options in a growing field that offers great promise to children on the autism spectrum and individuals with other developmental disabilities or conditions.
Students completing the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ graduate-level Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis are eligible to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. In addition, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a joint program with the School of Education, which satisfies the academic requirements for applied behavior analysis certification for students in the Master of Science in special education program. Students who are enrolled in the CASE (Concentration in Autism and Special Education) program can complete the requirements for the advanced certificate in applied behavior analysis by taking Psychology 607, 651, and 657.
