Linda L. Vila

Linda L. Vila has been teaching in the Department of Health Care & Public Administration since 1997. Prior to her full-time faculty appointment at LIU, Linda served as Vice President and General Counsel for a large health care network in Brooklyn and Queens. She also held the position of Assistant Vice President for Risk Management at another Brooklyn hospital and began her legal health care career with the New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation.  Linda teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses including but not limited to: Legal Aspects of Health Care Administration; Administrative Responsibility and the Legal Environment in the Health Sector; Hospitals & Health Care Organizations; Management of Health Care Organizations; Critical Issues in the Health Care and Public Sectors. Linda’s research interests include health care risk management, health care management models and health care ethics.
