Who can participate in the Summer in Long Island program?

  • Graduating seniors with a high school diploma
  • Current undergraduates at another university

How do I apply?

Use our quick application form in order to apply. One of the team members from our Admissions Office will contact you to confirm your registration.

How can I ensure my credit transfers back to my institution?

Please work with your university administration to ensure that credits will be accepts and honored at the completion of this program. LIU will issue a transcript for your summer courses at the end of the summer.

How many classes can I take?

You may take as many courses as you’d like, so long as schedules permit. These are full credit classes, and will be fast paced. Please plan accordingly.

While participating in the program, what expenses will I incur?

Visiting students are billed at the time of registration for tuition and university fees. Most of the courses offered this summer are for three credits.

What are the class hours?

During the summer, classes take place between 8 AM and 5 PM.

What is the housing scholarship?

If you take at least 6 credits, you will be eligible for a summer housing scholarship. You can stay on campus at one of LIU’s residence halls at no cost from May 20 – August 30.

Where is the campus located?

The LIU Post campus is located at 720 Northern Boulevard, Brookville, NY 11548.

What kind of housing is available?

Students who choose to live on campus for the summer will live in single or double occupancy dormitory-style housing on a first come, first served basis.

What subway and public transit is accessible to the LIU Post Campus?

LIU Post is serviced by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), Long Island Bus N20. The bus stops on University Drive at two designated locations on the north side of Campus.

University Drive runs parallel with Northern Boulevard. The N20 connects to the New York City subway system (# 7 line), several Long Island Rail Road stations, and other buses serving Nassau, Suffolk and Queens.
