Tina Zerilli

Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Full-time

Pharm.D., Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, LIU Pharmacy

Description

Dr. Tina Zerilli joined LIU Pharmacy in July 2002 as a drug information specialist at the College’s International Drug Information Center (IDIC), having graduated from the College that same year at the top of her class. During her tenure in this administrative position she was a recipient of the College’s Founder’s Award for Administration and Supporting Staff (2006). She was later promoted to a faculty position in 2007 with her primary practice site being the IDIC. In this capacity, she has been involved in the didactic and experiential education of Doctor of Pharmacy students, specifically in the area of drug information and literature evaluation.

Beyond her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Zerilli has been intimately involved in assessment activities at the College.  She helped develop and implement the College’s plan for curricular assessment while serving as chair of the Curricular Assessment Committee. Most recently, Dr. Zerilli served as a co-chair of the College’s self-study for re-accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. She is currently serving as chair of the Assessment Committee, the body responsible for developing and executing the College’s programmatic assessment plan.

Professionally, Dr. Zerilli is a member of several organizations including Rho Chi, the Academic Honor Society in Pharmacy. As a licensed pharmacist in the state of New York she has served as a consultant to a long-term care facility in addition to working in a community pharmacy setting. In line with her areas of expertise, Dr. Zerilli’s research interests have revolved around the use of drug information resources by both healthcare professionals and the lay public. In addition to the field of drug information Dr. Zerilli also strives to contribute to the scientific literature as it pertains globally to clinical pharmacy practice, and to the educational literature as it pertains to assessment practices.
