Description

Dr. Dharati Desai earned her PharmD degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL, in 2016. She completed both her pharmacy practice PGY1 and critical care PGY2 residencies at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Board-certified in emergency medicine and critical care pharmacotherapy, Dr. Desai practiced in emergency medicine in the Chicagoland area before joining the pharmacy faculty at LIU. She currently practices in the emergency department at Mount Sinai Hospital where she is committed to improve patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practices.

Dr. Desai's research interests within emergency medicine include pharmacotherapy in rapid sequence intubation, neurocritical care, and disaster preparedness. Through teaching and precepting LIU students, Dr Desai hopes to inspire students to make meaningful contributions to future of patient care and research in pharmacy.
