Description
Prior to coming to LIU, Dr. Dabestani served as Senior Director of Pharmacy at NYU Langone. While at NYU Langone, Dr. Dabestani was responsible for leading a staff of 300 and managing an annual budget in excess of $250M, as well as transforming his department into one of the most well-regarded automated and technologically advanced departments of pharmacy worldwide. As Dean at LIU, his focus will be to elevate the College of Pharmacy’s national prominence and ranking. Additionally, Dr. Dabestani will build on transformational synergies in drug discovery and generics with LIU’s health and science programs -- including solidifying major digital health, clinical, and digital drug discovery partnerships with leading industrial, clinical, and educational entities.
Dr. Dabestani has held a fellowship at the Advisory Board in Washington D.C., an incubator for for high-performing emerging executives. Additionally, he was named the Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacists 2007 Pharmacist of the Year, and is an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Fellow, and he served multiple terms on the ASHP Section of the Pharmacy Practice Manager’s Leadership Development section.
