New Student Orientation

Whether you are a first-year, transfer, or graduate student, New Student Orientation serves as your introduction to the Long Island University experience. Each New Student Orientation program provides an overview of the opportunities and resources available to all students at LIU.

Orientation Leaders serve as the main point of contact for all throughout New Student Orientation. These friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic upperclassmen provide new students with the ultimate orientation experience. Along with Orientation Leaders, the Center for Student Success & Coaching team and other campus faculty and administrators will be able to ensure all of your questions are answered.

The program is designed to be fun, interactive, educational, and memorable. Orientation is sure to be an amazing experience for all students!

How to Register for New Student Orientation

  1. Activate your MyLIU account.
  2. Submit your tuition deposit.
  3. Select one of the New Student Orientation RSVP buttons below for first-year or transfer & graduate students at either the Brooklyn or Post campus.
You will receive an email confirmation to your MyLIU email address after registering for New Student Orientation. Make sure to check your MyLIU email for important updates regarding New Student Orientation and other university announcements. For next steps, review the New Student Checklist.

A New Student Orientation fee is automatically applied to each student's account upon class registration, regardless of registration for or participation in New Student Orientation. This fee is non-refundable. The fee for First-Year Student Orientation is $275.00.
