Tutoring
All students may avail themselves of the services of the LIU Brooklyn Writing Center. In addition, the School of Education has a small number of writing tutors who are especially prepared to assist TAL and CSP students with assignments in these disciplines. Students are usually referred to the School of Education Tutoring Program by faculty members. For tutoring help with math, students can contact LIU’s Academic Reinforcement Center (ARC) at 718-488-1040.
Textual Strategies for EducatorsA non-credit course, TAL 088: Textual Strategies for Educators, is also available to help graduate students develop reading and writing skills at the graduate level. TAL graduate students who do not achieve a Level 3 on the TAL Assessment are required to enroll in this course during their first semester of study.
