Author Joseph Lunievicz to Read at C.W. Post September 21

Joel LunieviczJoseph Lunievicz will read from his debut novel, "Open Wounds," as part of the Poety Center fall series at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. The reading will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. at the Hillwood Art Museum. A reception will follow.

An alumnus of the C.W. Post Honors Program and Department of English, Joseph Lunievicz, brings to his creative fiction diverse experiences as an improvi­sational actor, fencing and yoga instructor, rugby player, motivational speaker, HIV/AIDS and drug treatment counselor. He also served in the Peace Corps. In his first novel he explores the life of an orphaned young boy coming of age in the streets of historic New York where a fencing master teaches him how to fight for survival. The author will read from this new novel full of passion and adventure.

To celebrate the publication of "Open Wounds," The Poetry Center is pleased to announce the launch of its first ever Short Fiction Contest (with cash prize). Details will be provided at the reading.

This event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include the C.W. Post Poetry Center, Merit Fellowship and the John P. McGrath Fund Long Island University.
