From the tour itinerary notes...

After breakfast drive along the Appian Way. The Appian Way was the first military road built by the Romans to connect Rome with the southern part of Italy. During the days of the Empire, the first ten miles of the Appian Way were lined with the monumental graves of patrician Roman families and formed the approach to the capital of the Empire.

Continue your sightseeing visiting the Catacombs, usually five or six levels, the total estimated length of the galleries is about 500 miles, and about six million people were buried in a span of 300 years.

In the evening the choir participates in the mass and then presents a concert of sacred music in the beautiful Church of Saint Maria del Popolo. Mass is at 6:30-7:10 p.m. (1 piece sung at the beginning.) We perform 45 minute program after the mass ending at 8:00 p.m.

Dinner at 9 p.m.
