The Art Department at C.W. Post is a vital, exciting place to create! Our studio classes are led by practicing artists who work closely with students to help them develop their unique potential. Classes are small and we offer an extensive choice of programs and degrees both Undergraduate and Graduate. All first year students take an intensive foundation course that provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of art making before branching off into major areas of concentration. Our comprehensive program is designed for serious, talented students who also desire the strong liberal arts background and cultural advantages a University can offer. Each semester visiting artists and art historians conduct lectures, critiques and seminars open to all. Full advantage is taken of the campus' proximity to New York City's wealth of creative resources. Classes visit museums, galleries and artists' studios and students have the opportunity to intern with some of the area's finest artists and designers. Our numerous art studios, set in beautiful country, offer access to a state of the art imaging facility for work in new technologies, a fully equipped slide library, two student exhibition galleries and the University's permanent collection housed in the Hillwood Art Museum. |
