Opera Ensemble

 The Opera Ensemble is dedicated to the live staged performances of the finest selections from the great operatic repertoire. Students must audition for this Ensemble and be concurrently enrolled in voice lessons.
Students have the opportunity to work on solo, duet, and ensemble pieces from works ranging from Handel to Bernstein. In-depth training is offered in stage movement, theater games, movement and musical improvisation, and elementary stagecraft. The study and preparation of recitatives, character development, and musical values is stressed in both classroom performances and academic research.
The culmination of the students’ work is presented each spring in the annual Night at the Opera, as well as numerous run out concerts to community schools and organizations.
