Graduate
The Art Department offers five graduate degree programs: an M.F.A. in Fine Art and Design (60 credits), an M.A. degree in Art (36 credits), an M.A. degree in Clinical Art Therapy (51 credits), an M.A. in Interactive Multimedia Arts (36 credits) and curricula for the M.S. degree in Art Education (39-42 credits). The Graduate Art program is conceived and structured to provide the student with a professional orientation to art. The primary focus of the program is on Studio Art. The Art faculty recognizes the creation of art as a profound and exciting experience and endeavors to reveal new avenues of expression and understanding of traditional and contemporary modes. In every phase of work, emphasis will be placed on the originality and substance of artistic concepts, scholarly comprehension of problems, knowledge of materials, and craftsmanship.
