L.I.U. has entered into a non-exclusive agreement with IBM to provide low cost Internet access services. IBM's service (ICE) was rated an A+ by PC World Magazine. In the February, 1997 issue of PC World there was a ranking of 12 major Internet Service Pro viders (ISP's), the only ISP with an "A" rating was IBM.

Monthly Plans

There are several sign up options available to you

  1. You can download the "Internet Access Kit" at no charge using a computer in the labs or your office running Netscape or Internet Explorer.
  2. If you don't need software (Netscape, Winsock) you can sign up via the Internet.
  3. You can download the Internet Access Kit at the bottom of this page.

How to Join

At this point you will complete the registration and be given some important information that you should write down or print out such as your account name, news server, smtp server, etc... Keep a record of your account name and password
You will also want to keep a record of your "News Host", "SMTP server" and "Mail server" to configure your mail program (such as MS Exchange, Eudora, or Netscape Mail) and your news reader (which can also be Netscape or Internet Explorer)
To change any information about your account, create "child accounts", change your password, forward your mail, find dial up phone numbers, etc... go to http://www.ibm.net/se.html.

There are over 1000 dial up numbers located world wide, you may find a convenient number listed at http://www.ibm.net/se.html.
