On Friday, May 8, LIU recognized the 2015 Graduates of LIU Post, LIU Brentwood, and LIU Riverhead at the 57th annual Commencement Ceremony. The beautiful spring day gathered proud family, friends, faculty, staff, and honored guests to celebrate the achievement of 36 doctoral candidates, 952 master’s degree candidates, 49 dual bachelor’s/master’s candidates, 1,087 baccalaureate candidates, two associate’s degree candidates, and 121 recipients of advanced certificates.

Honorary degree recipients Lynne Greene and John Kanas '68 shared their remarkable stories of success and words of advice for graduates as they embark on the next phase of their lives.

Meet the Class of 2015



  • Graduate class of 1,100 receiving the master’s degree, advanced certificate and doctoral degree.
  • Average age of the class is 31.
  • Youngest graduate is 21-years-old (Receiving MBA); Oldest graduate is 71-years-old (receiving Doctor of Education).
  • The class of 2015 includes 204 international students from 27 countries, 25 states, as well as 10 decorated service veterans.
  • This class will be starting jobs at hundreds of corporations and organizations including, the United Nations, FBI, Sloan Kettering, MTV, Disney, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Tribeca Productions, Getty Images, Norwegian Directorate of Health, and New York Presbyterian Hospital.


Due to the large number of visitors for Commencement, traffic can become heavy on Route 107 and Northern Boulevard on graduation day. Please leave yourself plenty of time. Upon arrival to campus, please follow the directions of the Old Brookville Police Department and the LIU Post Public Safety staff.
