Graduation will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 and is the grandest event of the school year. LIU Post graduates approximately 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students each year. More than 9,000 students, faculty, staff, parents and guests attend the graduation ceremony, held under a magnificent white tent at the foot of the Great Lawn. The tent runs the entire length of Humanities Hall—equivalent to the size of a football field. The ceremony honors students who graduated in September, January and May from LIU Post, LIU Brentwood and LIU Riverhead.
The ceremony includes a formal processional, a commencement speaker, the presentation of Honorary Degrees, recognition of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian, and the general conferral of undergraduate and graduate degrees by the academic schools. Recognition of individual graduates takes place at the college/school receptions, which immediately follow the formal exercise.

Commencement will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. under tent on the Great Lawn. After the main ceremony, graduates will be honored individually by their schools/colleges at "Recognition Receptions".
