Outlook Express Settings for Windows

LIU Email Services

1. Run Outlook Express
2. Click on the Tools menu and can either choose Accounts...
3. Click the Add button and choose Mail
4. Display name is your name as you wish it to appear click Next
5. Select I already have an email address..., type your email address and click Next
6. In Email Server Names
1. The incoming mail server is POP3.
2. Incoming mail (POP3) server is host.liu.edu
3. Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is host.liu.edu
4. click Next
7. Internet Mail Login
1. Account name is your email username. It is no more than 8 characters long. (Students can look up their email username in their SIS profile.) 
2. Password is your email account password.
3. click Next
8. If asked, select your connection method and click Next
9. Click Finish
10. Click the Properties button to edit the profile.
11. Click the Servers tab
12. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the My server requires authentication box.
13. Click OK then click Close
