Title PeopleSoft Applications Specialist – Student Records

Position Description
Long Island University has recently implemented a comprehensive suite of PeopleSoft applications including Financials, HR, Payroll and Student Modules. Information Technology is seeking a PeopleSoft Student Records Applications Specialist who will be responsible for providing technical support to the Student Records system user community. This Specialist will be the technical liaison between Information Technology and student administrative service offices at the campuses.
The candidate should possess 5-7 years experience in higher ed Student Records with relevant knowledge of Student Enrollment, Academic Structure, Transcripts, Transfer Credits and Enrollment reporting components of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions suite. Candidate should be aware of module touch points between PeopleSoft Student Records and other student administrative modules such as Financial Aid, Student Financials and Admissions systems. He/she should possess excellent understanding of PeopleSoft architecture including Tree manager and Security. He/she will be responsible for Student Records portion when updates are applied to the PeopleSoft application. He/she must be results-oriented, energetic, passionate, and creative with a proven ability to work under pressure in a complex change environment. He/she must possess excellent written, interpersonal and computer skills, including strong Technical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in Computer Science
- 5-7 years experience in PeopleSoft Student Records with relevant knowledge in other Student modules.
- Excellent technical skills; particularly, strong SQL skills
- Creativity, flexibility and a strong work ethic is a must
- Ability to Travel between University locations within five boroughs of NYC
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Excellent presentation skills
- Must be results-oriented, energetic, passionate, and creative with proven ability to work under pressure in a complex change environment
- Ability to implement PeopleSoft Student Records methods in a best practices approach
- Ability to complete projects both independently and as a team player
