Title   PeopleSoft Applications Specialist – Finance

Position Description

Long Island University has recently implemented a comprehensive suite of PeopleSoft applications including Financials, HR, Payroll and Student Modules.  Information Technology is seeking a PeopleSoft Applications Specialist for PeopleSoft Financials. This Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support to the University Finance system user community. This Specialist will also be the technical liaison between Information Technology and administrative offices.

The candidate should possess 5-7 years experience with PeopleSoft Financials including PeopleSoft General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Procurement. He/she must be able to lead the upgrade of the Financials system to the latest PeopleSoft release. An understanding of Student Financials is a plus. He/she must be results-oriented, energetic, passionate, and creative with a proven ability to work under pressure in a complex change environment.  He/she must possess excellent written, interpersonal and computer skills, including strong Technical and SQL skills. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in Computer Science
  • 5-7 years in PeopleSoft Financials; particularly, through the full life cycle of an ERP implementation and upgrade.
  • Excellent technical skills; particularly, strong SQL skills
  • Creativity, flexibility and a strong work ethic is a must
  • Ability to Travel between University locations within five boroughs of NYC
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Must be results-oriented, energetic, passionate, and creative with proven ability to work under pressure in a complex change environment
  • Ability to implement PeopleSoft methods in a best practices approach
  • Ability to complete projects both independently and as a team player
