Title PeopleSoft Security Administrator

Position Description

Long Island University has recently implemented a comprehensive suite of PeopleSoft applications including Financials, HR, Payroll and Student Modules. Information Technology is seeking a PeopleSoft Security Administrator who will be responsible for refining and maintaining the security access of users for University Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and Student administrative systems.

The candidate should have a strong technical knowledge of PeopleSoft security architecture for PeopleTools 8.4 and above. He/she will responsible for creating and maintaining security roles and permission lists across various PeopleSoft applications. He/she should have excellent understanding of LDAP, Single Sign-on and other security related components. He/she should be able to generate security and audit reports on a regular basis and interact with Functional leads to ensure unauthorized access does not take place on the PeopleSoft system. He/she will work as a team with systems and networking teams to identify potential problems related to security. He/she will be responsible to ensure access before, during and after an update is applied to the system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in Computer Science
  • 5-7 years experience as PeopleSoft security Administrator. Knowledge of security for Student Systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of implementation of Single Sign-on
  • Knowledge of implementation of LDAP based authentication for multiple directories
  • Excellent technical skills; particularly, in PS Query, SQL and other reporting tools
  • Ability to Travel between University locations within five boroughs of NYC
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Must be results-oriented, energetic, passionate, and creative with proven ability to work under pressure in a complex change environment
  • Ability to implement all data permission security methods in a best practices approach
  • Ability to complete projects both independently and as a team player
