Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus had spent a considerable amount of money to renovate and completely reorganize the student computer facility.

The campus supports 30 campus-wide labs for student use with over 600 computers.

KEEP IN MIND

1. The labs are under 24-hour surveillance.
   
2. No foods or drinks allowed in the lab
   (If you are caught with food, we reserve the right to eject you from the lab.)
   
3. Printing is 10¢ per page (5¢ if you use your own paper).
   
4. Keep an eye on your belongings at all times.
   
5. Lost floppy disks will be kept for 2 weeks, and then, will be recycled.
   
6. We are not responsible for lost property.
   
7. When using cell phones please be considerate to your fellow computer user.
8. The shared My Documents folder on each computer is to be used for Temporary Storage. We recommend that you re-save your documents on your personal floppy disk or storage device (Web Storage LIU STUDENTS ONLY). All lab users has access to view or delete anything in the My Documents folder.
9. During Midterm and Finals week Printing is free to all registered LIU students for all documents, except Internet printing which remains 10 cents a page.
   

    

   Departmental Labs
   
   There are some departmental labs located in Pratt 620: MAC Lab, Journalism, HEOP, Media Arts, Science Division, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Pharmacy which available to majors with in these disciplines only.
   
   Each Information Technology PC computer lab is equipped with P-III's running at 500 MHZ or better, 128 Megs of RAM and 6 GB of Hard Drive. Every Lab also has an HP networked Laser Printer. In the near future all the labs will be fitted with LCD Multimedia projectors.
   

   The Information Technology Department computer labs are equipped with

   Scanners
   Color printers
   Network printers
   (DVD/CDRW cd-roms).

   We also offer teaching tools such as Projectors and connected to PC's and Smartboards.

   The students staffed in the computer labs participate in workshops regularly to keep them up to date with ever changing new technology and lab software.
