Faculty
and Staff accounts are built upon request.
Username
Faculty and Staff usernames
are your login name and the first seven letters of the last name.
For example, Professor John Smith's username might be jsmith.
Passwords
Faculty and Staff
members are given a temporary password which is listed
on the memo you receive when you request an account. Users
must login and set a password before you can use the account.
Faculty & Staff members will automatically be prompted to
change the password when you login. Faculty and Staff members
may change your password as often as they like.
Electronic Mail

Faculty and Staff
Members email addresses generally follow the format of
firstname.lastname@liu.edu
Weboutlook Account
Usage Overview
This section briefly
covers how to use your email account. Please see the sections on
Connection Options and Email Options for more detail.
Accounts may be used
by the following ways:
- login to http://weboutlook.liu.edu
- use electronic mail
- logout from http://weboutlook.liu.edu
- close browser window
You may also use it
to:
- send/receive modestly-sized
files (under 1 MB)
- upload/download files
- publish a home web
page
- publish on-line course
materials
Logout and Disconnect
It is important to logout and/or disconnect at the end of each
session. Logging out helps to prevent unauthorized people from
using an account and also releases system resources for others
to use.
WebCT
Accounts:
WebCT accounts can
be used to create interactive online learning for students.
To request a WebCT
Account please contact the Faculty Media Resource
Center located in the Pratt Building Room 321 or 718-488-3326
Website Space
Request by Faculty for website space for Class Purposes must
be requested in the Faculty
Media Resource Center located in the Pratt Building Room 321
or 718-488-3326.
Faculty can upload
there information to their webspace by using their web browser
by going to the following address http://myweb.brooklyn.liu.edu/fs/
