Virus, Hoax & Security Updates Notification

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you to keep your computer up-to-date. Use Windows Update to choose updates for your computer’s operating system, and software.
To access the Windows Update Web site,

• Click START and Choose Windows Update. Or
  
• Open Internet Explorer and navigate to
  • http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

1. When you enter Windows Update, (You may be prompted to install Windows Update Control V4.)

2. Genuine Windows Validation page will appear- to validate your Windows Operating System.

3. Click continue to begin the validation process

(If Microsoft detects that your version of the Operating System is not valid- you will not be able to continue to apply necessary updates. )

4. If the Validation Process is successfully, you will be prompted to continue

Click continue button to begin the Windows Update process.

5. Click the Express (Recommended) button to begin necessary windows updates.

• Note Some updates may require that you restart your computer. Save your work and close any open programs before beginning the installation process.
• Please be sure to verify that all critical updates have been installed in your computer by running Windows Update again after restart.

6. If this is the first time you have been to the Windows Home page your computer needs to receive some Windows update components. Click on Download and Install Now.

7. After successfully install the Windows update component you may Click Continue-

8-The Site will scan your machine and determine which updates are needed to secure the Operating System-If updates are available they will be displayed and you should select and install updates.

9. The selected updates will be downloaded and installed automatically on your computer.

10. Once the updates have been installed and completed you will see the successfully completed screen.

• Note Some updates may require that you restart your computer. Save your work and close any open programs before beginning the installation process.
  

Please be sure to verify that all critical updates have been installed in your computer by running Windows Update again after restart.
