Bulk Email Policy

What is Bulk Email:

Bulk e-mail messages are e-mail messages delivered, simultaneously, to every registered e-mail address on the Brooklyn Campus - example of bulk e-mail messages are special events, lectures, meetings and important information.

  • All bulk mail requests to students are limited to TEXT MESSAGES ONLY.

  • The Brooklyn Information list is limited to full time faculty, staff and administrators. Please indicate if the bulk mail request is to be also posted to all students, full time and/or part time faculty. See above for student list policy.

    Messages to Student Should not include the following:

    • Do not send MS Publisher files.
    • Do not send images, jpegs or attachments.
  • 1) Messages will be posted on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of the date or priority of the event. However, emergency notifications (i.e. campus closings) issued by the Brooklyn Campus will always take priority over every other email message request.

    2) POSTING of message requests must include:

    • Event/Meeting/Lecture title
    • Date of event
    • Time of event
    • Event location
    • Please indicate the proper SUBJECT line for the particular bulk mail or announcement request.
    • Contact information - e-mail and phone number of event coordinator, Price of admission (if applicable)
    • Group/Department sponsoring event
    • Admission guidelines (i.e. public invited, students only, staff/faculty only, etc.)
    • Distribution date desired


    Messages without this information cannot be posted. Posting of messages for events can only be posted once; duplicate requests for messages about the same event will not be posted.

    3) Requests for posting of a message should be submitted to delicia.garnes@liu.edu or it@brooklyn.liu.edu

    4) Phone and inter-office written requests will not be posted.
