Thanks to a donation from Upper Brookville resident Blanche Karlan, the Water Garden underwent a complete restoration in 2002. With the assistance of original planting lists that still exist today, the garden has been restored as close as possible to the original plans created by Marion Cruger Coffin in 1923. Today, the garden is called the Karlan/Geisman Meditation Garden, in memory of Mrs. Karlan’s husband, Lazarus, daughter, Penny, and son-in-law, Richard.
