During the course of an academic year, the Department of
Public Safety at the C.W. Post Campus recovers many items
of personal property. Much of this property cannot be returned,
as the rightful owner cannot be identified. The Department
of Pubic Safety recommends that members of the campus community
record the serial numbers of all valuable equipment, computers,
stereos, televisions, etc. and file them away for safekeeping.
Should a member elect to engrave his/her valuables, DO NOT
use a Social Security number. Instead use information that
will have meaning to the member alone, including family birth
dates, mother's maiden name, etc. An engraver is available
for a member's use through the Department of Public Safety.

information: your name, your exact location, your destination.
