First Year Students

On behalf of the Orientation staff, welcome to C.W. Post! There is no doubt that you are about to embark on a journey that will be the best four years of your life. At first, it may all be confusing and unfamiliar to you, but before long, this will become a way of life. You probably don’t know what to expect, who to direct your questions to, and where to begin! Well, that’s where we come in!

The Orientation Team is focused on assisting you in your transition to C.W. Post. We are here to be your guide, mentor, teacher, and friend. If you have questions, we have answers.

What will you do at Orientation? That’s probably your first question. You will have the opportunity to see the campus (perhaps for the first time, or at least become more familiar with it), meet with staff members who can answer any of your questions, and speak with current students about what to expect at C.W. Post. You’ll hear from faculty members about what to expect from college classes, have the chance to join student organizations, and learn more about what campus life has to offer. There is so much to do while you’re here that you won’t want to go home!

Still unsure? Sometimes the best part of the Orientation experience is meeting new friends and classmates that you’ll be studying with for the next four years. Most students that go through Orientation feel better about starting in the fall after they’ve made some new friends. We’ll not only give you the chance to meet new people but to make friends that can last a lifetime.
