Things to Bring

As you enjoy your summer in preparation for leaving home to reside on campus, you should take the time to begin accumulating the things you will need while away at college. The following (while not all inclusive) is a list of the more common items you should bring with you in the fall.

Each Residence Hall room will be furnished with a desk, chair, bed w/mattress, wardrobe/closet and dresser for each student as well as a set of window drapes.

The room will come with cable TV service (70 channels), including HBO and MSG, and the latest movies–all free!

Your phone will have free voice mail, and the room will feature two free connections to the University’s computer network so you can surf the web at lightning speed.

Personal Items:

  • Bath Towels
  • First Aid kit
  • Medicine (Tylenol, Advil, etc)
  • Clothing (Fall/Winter)-Remember there is a limited amount of space

For The Room:

  • Tissues, Paper towels

For The Desk:

For Entertainment:

Bedding:

  • Extra Long sheets

  • Comforter

Food:

  • Small Refrigerator

THINGS NOT TO BRING:

Please refer to the Resident Student Handbook for a comprehensive list of prohibited items. 

  • Prohibited items include, but are not limited to; candles, incense, electric appliances, air conditioning units not approved by Office of Residence Life,  portable heaters, combustible liquids, barbecues, decorative lights, etc.
