About WCWP 88.1 FM
WCWP/88.1 FM is located in the Benjamin and Elizabeth Abrams Communications Center on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, it is partnered with anchor station WLIU/88.3 FM for the Long Island University Public Radio Network. During its weekday hours, you can tune in to WLIU jazz programming and National Public Radio news and information programming. At night listeners can tune into a variety student-hosted programming starting at 10 PM, Monday through Friday, with WCWP news “Live Tonight”, followed by a variety of music programming, for a complete listing check out our program schedule.
About WebRadio WCWP
WebRadio WCWP is a student-operated station located in the Benjamin and Elizabeth Abrams Communications Center on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York. For a complete listing, check out our program schedule. WebRadio WCWP is a learning laboratory for the Media Arts Department, and for students majoring in other disciplines. Its mission is to foster the individual and collective growth of the students who staff the station while providing programming that serves the needs and interests of its listeners. In addition to providing an eclectic mix of music programming, WebRadio WCWP conducts live interviews and in studio performances. We also webcast sporting events for C.W. Post and local high school sports. In addition, news updates are conducted live weekdays covering all the days’ events. Listeners can also hear a variety of sports talk every weekday from 3 until 4 PM. WebRadio WCWP can also be heard throughout the C.W. Post campus on television channel 72, 24 hours per day.
Listening and learning have been enhanced as a result of a very generous grant from the Abrams Family Foundation, a long time supporter of WCWP. The WebRadio studio features state-of-the-art digital audio equipment that includes a 16-channel digital audio board and a variety of professional broadcast studio equipment. |
