Comptroller Howard Weitzman to Address Real Estate Professionals

Real estate professionals from throughout the region will gather on Thursday, April 19 to discuss the state of both the industry and Nassau County's finances and how the two may impact the future.

The Real Estate Practitioners Institute (REPI) hosts its annual spring luncheon at the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho, Thursday, April 19. The Institute, headquartered at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, provides continuing education services, seminars, white papers and luncheons that address topics of interest to regional real estate practitioners. REPI's mission is to promote professionalism, ethics and education within the various segments of the real estate industry. John Gutleber, president and CEO of Castagna Realty, chairs REPI's board.

Nassau County Comptroller Howard S. Weitzman will be the featured speaker at the event. Weitzman, the county’s fiscal watchdog, oversees the $2.4 billion municipal budget and has been instrumental in introducing innovative programs to decrease spending. He is currently serving his second elected term.

The event begins at 11:45 a.m. with cocktails and the luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. The fee is $55 per person, with a cash bar. Reservations are required by April 12 and may be secured by calling (516) 299-3273.
