Open House for Nursing, Health Programs at C.W. Post October 10

College-bound students and working professionals who would like to pursue a degree in nutrition, health information management, biomedical sciences, radiologic technology or nursing (for RNs only) are encouraged to attend an open house sponsored by the School of Health Professions and Nursing at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. The event will be held Wednesday, October 10. 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on the C.W. Post Campus, 720 Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) in Brookville.

Faculty and advisors will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about bachelor's and master's degree programs, career opportunities, admissions and financial assistance. The event is free and open to the public. Interested students are asked to contact the C.W. Post Office of Admissions at (516) 299-2900 for reservations.

The School of Health Professions and Nursing offers a wide range of degrees that prepare students for careers in some of the fastest-growing health care fields. Students benefit from intense classroom studies, and laboratory and clinical experiences. Students participate in internships at well-known hospitals such as North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as well as at senior citizen facilities, pharmaceutical companies and many others.

Bachelor of Science degrees are available in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Health Technology, Forensic Science, Nursing (for RNs only), Nutrition, Health Information Management and Radiologic Technology. Master of Science degrees are offered in Medical Biology, Clinical Laboratory Management, Cardiovascular Perfusion, Advanced Practice Nursing, Nursing Education and Nutrition. An accelerated B.S./M.S. program is available in Nutrition and C.W. Post offers a post-baccalaureate Dietetic Internship.
