Student, Star Athlete and Now Pageant Winner
Junior criminal justice major Dominique Ringold, a C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University Honors Program student and one of the players who helped the Pioneer volleyball team to the NCAA playoffs this fall, was the teen category winner at the inaugural America’s Miss Scholarship Pageant in Baltimore last May, 2006. The pageant seeks to recognize and honor outstanding young women across the nation for their academic and scholastic achievements, leadership, community involvement and individuality.
Ringold,
who graduated fourth in her class at Elmont Memorial High School,
is a member of the Pre-Law Association.
Ringold has played in all 34 matches thus far for the Pioneers
volleyball team, which won their first NCAA Division II tournament
match in school history, Nov. 9, 2006 at New Haven, Connecticut.
