Brookville’s Mayor Goodwin to Serve as
Grand Marshal at C.W. Post Homecoming Parade

Richard P. Goodwin, Mayor of the Village of Brookville, will serve as grand marshal of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University’s homecoming parade on Saturday, October 14 2006. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. at C.W. Post’s east gate and proceed a quarter mile down Gold Coast Road to Hickox Field, which is the site of the annual homecoming football game, barbecue and carnival festivities.

Mayor Goodwin will lead a procession of student-created floats, colorful club banners, cheerleaders, “Post Pride” award finalists, student clubs and organizations, sororities and fraternities, the pep band and bagpipers. Mayor Goodwin has served as Brookville’s mayor since 1992.  

“We are honored to have Mayor Goodwin serve as grand marshal for our homecoming celebration,” said Joseph Shenker, provost of the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville. “This year is a special one for the Village of Brookville, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and C.W. Post is proud to be part of this important milestone.”

Admission to the float parade is free. Tickets for Brookville residents to the homecoming game, barbecue and carnival rides are $11 for adults, $4 for children under 8 years of age and free for children under 3.
