"What is Right?" Honors Conference
Debates Ethics of the Today
War, economic injustice, sin and reality shows students
and faculty grappled with these topics and many more in a day of
provocative seminars held Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 at the C.W. Post
Campus of Long Island University.
Titled "What Is Right?", the campus-wide series of lectures,
films and panel discussions featured some two-dozen speakers. The
event was organized by the Honors Program and Merit Fellowship at
C.W. Post.
Some of the topics included "Ethics in Information Technology:
Right and Wrong for IT"; "Is There Justice in War?";
"Private Acts, Public Consequences: Ensuring Personal Freedoms
While Protecting the Public's Health"; "Ethics in Literature";
and "What is Right and Wrong in Campaign Advertising?"
