The New York State Small Business Development
Center (SBDC) plays a key role in economic development by providing
high-quality technical and management assistance to start-up and
existing small businesses free of charge. The SBDC combines the
resources of colleges and universities, the private sector and government
to benefit Long Islands economic development.
The Center, which is located in Lorber Hall
on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, is a satellite
office of the Long Island Regional Center at Farmingdale State University.
The SBDC offers services such as advice
on business plan development, cost analysis, loan information assistance,
marketing strategies, financial planning, legal issues, and the
IRS.
C.W. Post, with its AACSB International-accredited
College of Management and prime North Shore location, is a natural
fit for the satellite office, one of two in Nassau County and the
only one on Long Islands North Shore.
