Center on Aging

The Center on Aging, established by the College of Management, Department of Health Care and Public Administration at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in 1988, is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to research, community service and education in the field of gerontology. The Center's primary focus is the training and education of gerontological professionals. It also sponsors seminars and conferences designed for the wider community and conducts research - particularly in the area of interdisciplinary service delivery. The Center has been an ongoing sponsorship of the Gerontological Professionals of Long Island - a networking and educational forum for interdisciplinary gerontological professionals. In addition, the Center on Aging developed an Advanced Certificate program for interdisciplinary gerontological professionals and regularly offers training seminars in policies related to Medicare/Medicaid and Long Term Care.
