The Center, located in the College of Management and School of Public Service at the C.W. Post Campus, conducts symposiums and conferences for members of the energy industry, government officials and other parties interested in the development of public policy for dealing with crucial energy issues. Discussions focus on options for meeting energy demands, approaches to energy conservation, cost of energy to the consumer and more. The Center aims to provide an objective, non-partisan academic setting for these discussions and strives to build consensus followed by advocacy for different approaches to solving energy problems. In the absence of a consensus, the Center summarizes and reports on the essence of arguments for conflicting viewpoints on energy issues and recommends potential paths to compromise. |
