Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the master's or advanced
certificate programs, a student must obtain a commitment in writing
from his or her superintendent relative to:
- Making the resources and personnel of
the school available so that the student can get a meaningful
experience;
- Providing the student with time to perform
the competencies described in the program;
- Agreeing to provide the personnel necessary
to supervise and evaluate the candidate successfully.
Admissions Procedures
The admissions procedures for the Department of Educational Leadership
and Administration (DELA) are the same as required by the School
of Education. Applicants not meeting the required grade point average
for admission to the program will be required to take the Graduate
Record Examination and appear for a personal interview with the
Chairperson.
Specific Entrance
Requirements
Master's Degree candidates must have:
- a) permanent or professional state certification
in teaching or an educational specialty
- b) satisfactory completion of at least
three years experience under such certification
- c) a bachelor's degree
Advanced Certificate candidates must have:
- a) a master's degree and a bachelor's
degree
- b) permanent or professional state certification
in teaching or in an educational specialty
- c) satisfactory completion of at least
three years experience under such certification
