For working adults who
want to go back to school or have been away from the classroom but
plan to return, the WEEKEND COLLEGE AND EVENING PROGRAM offers these
advantages:

Weekend and Evening
Services
- Weekend College students
receive a mailed booklist one week prior to the first class session.
Faculty are available for consultation by appointment on campus
and by telephone. Weekend lunches on campus provide time for informal
course discussion with faculty.
- Academic, personal
and career counseling are available to all registered students.
Most academic advisers are available on Tuesday evenings until
8 p.m.
- A student cafeteria
located in Hillwood Commons is open weekends and evenings.
- Certain offices, including Bursar,
Admissions,
and Registration,
are open Tuesday evenings.The Admissions Office is also open on
Saturdays from 10 a.m. -- 2 p.m.
- In addition to the regular weekday and evening
bookstore hours, the
Student Book exchange will be made available to Weekend College
students for the purchase of textbooks and supplies on certain
Saturdays and Sundays:
In addition, the bookstore offers extended evening
hours at the start of each term. Please call (516) 299-3561 for

- The Writing Center located in Humanities Hall,
Room 309, is open and regularly staffed evenings and weekends.
The Center's weekend hours are: Saturday, 10 a.m. -- 2 p.m. and
Sunday, 1 p.m. -- 3 p.m. The Center provides free assistance in
upgrading your writing skills and may be reached by calling (516)
299-2732.
- The Campus Security
Office, open 24 hours, 7 days a week, processes car registrations
on weekends.
- For Library
evening and weekend hours.
- The Public Safety Office processes photo ID cards for all students.
- School closing information due
to inclement weather or other emergencies is available at www.cwpost.liu.edu/cwis/cwp/snow.html.
Weekend College
Credits taken in the Weekend College are applied to appropriate
undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered by the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island
University. Students may pursue courses of study
in the many subject areas offered at C.W. Post.
Evening Program
Undergraduate evening classes typically meet one
evening per week for two hours and forty minutes. Students enrolled
in the Evening Program part-time can earn a degree over a period
of six to seven years, or less when combined with summer sessions
and weekend college courses. Graduate classes usually meet one evening
per week for one hour and fifty minutes. Program length varies depending
upon the degree. To enroll, contact the Office
of Admissions at (516) 299-2900. Upon acceptance, matriculated
students receive academic advising from the department of their
intended major. (Non-matriculated students receive academic advising
from the office of Academic Advising.) Upon obtaining an advisor's
signature, registration can be completed either in-person or by
mail.
