Secondary Collegiate Accelerated Learning Experience (S.C.A.L.E.) Program

The S.C.A.L.E. Program, offered by the Enrollment Services Office, is a cooperative, concurrent  program between C.W. Post and selected secondary schools in the New York area.  This program enables highly qualified high school seniors and juniors to enroll in regularly accredited C.W. Post undergraduate courses and to earn college credits while remaining in their high school setting. S.C.A.L.E. students earn college credit and high school credit at the same time.  Unlike AP classes, S.C.A.L.E. classes offer credit to students for their cumulative work whereas AP college credit is determined by one test.  S.C.A.L.E. is unique in that our C.W. Post faculty works closely with the S.C.A.L.E. class and the S.C.A.L.E. teacher.  A professor visits each class multiple times per semester and lectures during several of the visits.  For over thirty years, local high schools have participated as S.C.A.L.E. schools in the program. S.C.A.L.E. offers over sixty courses in more than twenty academic departments.

Students apply to the S.C.A.L.E. program through their high schools.  Preference is given to students who have maintained an unweightedcumulative average throughout their high school careers of at least 80 in core academic subjects (English language arts, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, languages other than English).

Upon completion of the senior year in high school, S.C.A.L.E. students who matriculate at C.W. Post may be eligible for an attractive S.C.A.L.E. Scholarship, currently valued at $16,000.00 over four years.  We invite you to attend our many special Admissions Events to help you decide to apply to C.W.
