How to Apply

  1. Each applicant to the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is reviewed on an individual basis. The most important part of any applicant’s profile is the courses they are taking (High School Transcript) and their level of achievement in those courses. We evaluate each student within their high school academic environment and then against the applicant pool overall, being sure to always take into account individual learning styles and unique situations.

  2. Along with an official copy of their High School Transcript, students are also required to submit the following:
    • Official SAT or ACT scores
    • Personal Statement (College Essay)
    • 1 Letter of Recommendation
    • $30.00 (non-refundable)application processing fee

  3. The following are recommended but not required:
    • 1-2 additional letters of recommendation
    • An extracurricular activities/employment resume of no more than 1-2 pages
    • Personal on-campus interview with an Admissions Counselor


  4. Completed applications are reviewed on a ROLLING basis. Review and processing time may take anywhere from 2-5 weeks. All applicants are notified by regular mail of the final admission decision.

THE C.W. POST CAMPUS OF LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY DOES NOT GIVE PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT TO APPLICANTS WHO CHOOSE ONE APPLICATION METHOD OVER ANOTHER. ALL APPLICANTS ARE GIVEN THE SAME FAIR AND EQUAL TREATMENT IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS NO MATTER WHAT THEIR METHOD OF APPLICATION SUBMISSION MAY BE.
