Performance: The C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival and Tilles Center will host the National Youth Orchestra of Canada with Jacques Lacombe, 2008 Principal Conductor as part of the Festival’s concert series. The National Youth Orchestra of Canada is considered a Canadian treasure, and the NYOC has historically established a reputation as a leading educational training ground of young Canadian musicians and launch pad for some of Canada’s best-known orchestral talent. Its alumni form the core of major Canadian orchestras, while others are members of prominent international orchestras. NYOC’s concert at Tilles Center will present a 2008 commissioned piece by Kelly-Marie Murphy, Prokofiev Scythian Suite and Mahler Symphony No. 1 “Titan.”General admission $15; seniors and students $10.
