What is Federal Work-Study?

The College Work-Study program is designed to provide on-campus, part time jobs for undergraduate students with financial need. This awarded money may be applied to the student's tuition, educational needs (textbooks, supplies) or personal expenses. To receive College Work-Study, a student must apply for financial assistance by completing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form and demonstrate need as determined by the federal government.

How much will I make?

As a first time Work-Study student, your hourly wage will be $7.15 on the
C. W. Post campus. Your total dollar award for the academic year depends on when you apply, your level of need, and the funding level of the school. Each year the awarded amount may change based on your financial need.

How many hours may I work?

You may not exceed the awarded amount of money, so your hours will be based upon how much you are granted. No student is permitted to work more than 20 hours a week while school is in session, however during intercession or breaks while classes are not in session, you may work up to 35 hours a week.

How will I be paid?

Timesheets track all your working hours. Timesheets are submitted to Personnel and then forwarded to Payroll. You will receive a paycheck biweekly. Your check may be picked up at the Bursar’s office on the assigned day or thereafter. You will need to show a valid C.W. Post ID card or driver’s license.
