Lindsay Lohan’s Mom-Manager Gives Students an Inside Perspective on Celebrity Management
Star Power! Nothing competes with lessons from real life. Recently, students in one of C.W. Post Professor Patrizia Porrini’s management classes heard the real deal from former Radio City Rockette Dina Lohan, who now serves as manager for her megastar daughter, Lindsay Lohan. Dina Lohan launched her daughter’s career with modeling and commercial gigs, and then secured the “big break” with a successful audition for the lead role in “The Parent Trap” (1998). Her daughter has since appeared in several feature films including “Freaky Friday” (2003) and “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” (2004) and most recently, “Mean Girls” (2004).
Ms. Lohan’s April 19, 2005 visit to the C.W. Post Campus was arranged by C.W. Post student Alexis Armonas, a business management major who is also an assistant to the movie star.
“Dina Lohan is absolutely inspirational,” Armonas says. “She has so much to offer in the way of business management advice.”
Lohan talked candidly with students, answering many questions about life in the entertainment management business.
