The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the founding school
on the C.W. Post Campus, offers dozens of undergraduate and
graduate degree programs through its thirteen academic departments,
including a highly selective 5-year doctoral program in Clinical
Psychology. We also house a growing number of multidisciplinary
programs in such areas as Forensic
Science, American Studies, Gender Studies, Environmental
Studies, Earth System Science,
International Studies and Pre-Engineering through our Math and Physics Departments.
The Psychology Department offers
a new Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis at
the graduate level, and we have strong advising programs in
Pre-Law and Pre-Medicine at the undergraduate level. All departments
and programs schedule activities and provide information and
advice to familiarize students with various career opportunities
open to arts and sciences graduates, and to assist them in
networking in their chosen professional fields. The College
is the administrative unit responsible for C.W. Posts
nationally recognized Honors Program
and regionally recognized Poetry
Center. Among the many publications, conferences, and
special events the College sponsors are the acclaimed literary
magazine Confrontation
and a biennial Science Expo, which regularly attracts
thousands of visitors to our campus.
