Electives (12 credits)
Each degree candidate may select electives from offerings of this Department, the School of Education, or the Palmer School of Library and Information Science. Elective courses must be approved by the graduate director. Department policy states that no more than 6 credits may be taken outside this Department. |
Comprehensive Examination
Upon completion of required courses and before graduation from the program, each candidate must pass a comprehensive examination. The examination consists of a written section that integrates material from the required courses and a lecture pertaining to a technical topic to be presented before a faculty committee.
Computer Science Education Award
The Michael H. Pressman Award honors the chairperson who guided the development of the Computer Science Education program. It is awarded annually to the Computer Science Education degree recipient who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement as well as exhibits superior potential as an educator.
